Hello SUMMER SUN!!!!!!Thursday, March 28th, 2002DOWNLOAD MY LATEST RECORDING!YOUR DADDY'S SON from Ragtime!!Look for me on the WB's POPSTARS!! I auditioned for the next band: POPSTARS 2... RENT closing in SF. NEW HEADAHOTS!";" Hi Everybody! How are you? Yes, you? Well, I do hope. I am alright. Looking for work.... Ahhh the life of an actor!! HEY!! Please Download My Latest Recording!! It's YOUR DADDY'S SON from Ragtime; I'd LOVE to know what y'all think. It's a new addition to my demo. There is one more song in the works too. :)
Yes, it is true that I auditioned for POPSTARS 2!! I signed some paperwork that prevents me from telling the details of what went on at the auditions because they want their footage to be new and exciting to their show audience. If I tell who made which cuts, or what happened in which city to which kid... I guess it'll spread like wildfire and then no one will watch the show. So I've been told. I'll tell you what I can now. After the shows air, I can tell you more.
I auditioned in Los Angeles first and crashed and burned. I waited 13 hours to be seen--and my nerves got the better of me. ;( Angry and frustrated with myself I charged a ticket to San Francisco to audition again. It became a matter of pride, I knew I could do better and I had to prove it to myself or die embarrassed and regretful. I don't do regret. Two days later I camped out in the streets of San Francisco... I felt like a renthead. :) It's not always fun sleeping in line in the cold... Thanks again supportive diehard rentheads.
So... I was seen much sooner than I had been in LA. This is as much as I can tell you of my POPSTARS adventure for now. It went well. Thank you all for asking. I'll let you know later more... stuff.
Then, I went to Jackie's house (Jacqueline Arnold) and crashed at her place. We caught up on life, walked around SF, went to lunch, rebonded. :) And of course I saw RENT while I was there!! The show is 200% greater than I remember it. I believe the solididy of the show stems from the many cast members who have been in the company a long time. There are so many quick but deeeeeep MOMENTS in the show that speak more than the words or music. The relationships on stage are so real and believeable. I am very very very proud of the BENNY CAST. :) It was total deja vu being back though. Not too many new cast members since I left. But WOAH IS JEREMY AWESOME!!! It was my first time meeting him and seeing his performance as Roger -so it was quite a plesant suprise. He is so very vulnerable and strong and present. He and Matt have a great relationship. Dom has really made Mimi her own and she's great. Mark Ford's reprise... WHAT!!!!!!!! Jackie and Maggie are a HOTT couple... Really, the entire cast is AMAZING. It's sad to see the company closing. Only two more weeks. Crazy. I'm visiting them one more time for the 4th of July since they have the day off. I didn't have enough "hang time" and now I must fulfill it while everyone is still in one place. :)
Oh, I just recieved half of my new printed headshots. One of my favorites is at the top. I'm trying to decide which ones to use to market myself theatrically, commercially, and for my first album... I've yet to have that photo shoot. I'll do that in about 2 weeks with Photographer Alan Weissman. Tomorrow I'll be putting up the headshots I've got so I can poll you guys for opinions.
Until we type again!! Oh, this pic is the view from my bedroom window when I was in Oxford, England.
