RENT Opening Night in Tokyo

Opening Night is Tonight!

Tonight we open in Tokyo, Japan... Finally. I can't wait to see how the crowds receive the show. From what we've heard there are quite a few Japanese Rentheads who are very excited. Everyone in the cast is excited to start this run too. Yesterday we rehearsed all day on the Japanese set with the Japanese props; all of the costumes, hair, and makeup are ours. The theatre is amazing. My guestimate is that it seats around 5000 people, and there are vertical screens on either side of the stage that translate the show into Japanese along with the the actors' lines. I would show you but no one (but the publicist) is allowed to have pictures of the inside of any theatres or any sets. Basically, it looks like our original set. The Mimi loft is longer across, the support group loft above the band is higher. There are different things on the sculpture and it feels a lot different to climb. But you know what... it's sill RENT. Today we rehearse again and then open tonight. I can't wait. I'll let you know how it goes. Sayonara!
