Racquel Rocks the East and West Coasts

I PROMISE You Don't Want to Miss Friday's Gig at the Whiskey a Go Go!!

Ok Folks, So there is much for you and I to catch up on... But first, Please come to the Whiskey a Go Go tomorrow (FRIDAY) and rock out with Jim's Fault. We have the most phat show lined up. We go on at 10:15-- be there or miss out. There will not be another opportunity like this and when you come to the show you'll find out why. I'll be the curly-haired girl with the cowboy hat on.

Now, as far as my latest adventures in New York City, It was truly a blast. I was temporarily filling in at the Broadway show Hairspray, and may I say the show is beautific! Great music, awesome costumes and wigs, take-yo-breath-away talented performers, a meaningful storyline based on true events, and you go home smiling. View my NY photos for some visual Hairspray treats... And on that note--

Congratulations to Sandra DeNise &
Jacqueline Arnold for booking
The 1st National Tour of Hairspray!

The First National Tour is about to begin rehearsals in July in the Big Apple. Then they will take off to open this show in Baltimore (where the story takes place), and off around the US they go! Awesome job ladies! I'm so proud of you both!

You may know these ladies from RENT's Benny Tour, or from numerous other professional works they have been involved in including Smokey Joe's Cafe, Parade, and Saturday Night Fever. Be sure to catch them in Hairspray when it comes to a city near you.

Sandy will be playing the lead role of "Penny Pingleton" and Jackie will be the onstage ensemble role understudying the role of "Motormouth Maybelle".

As mentioned above, Hairspray takes place in Baltimore in 1962. After leaving NY, I went full-circle, straight to Baltimore to meet Gabe and his family for his cousin's wedding. I'd never been there before, and we had a blast. Click here --> to view Baltimore photos. And finally, if you were wondering why the sudden jump in photo numbers... I'm excited to tell you that I recently went digital and I am happy about the quality that this camera delivers. The Canon Elph - Powershot S200 has given me back the freedom to shoot photos endlessly! The zoom is not so grand, but with 2 mpx, options to take extremely high resolution photos, b&w, sepia tone, and panoramic capabilities, I am as content as a well fed kitten. So enjoy the visual pleasures to come to you.
