While on the International Benny Tour of RENT, I had the amazing opportunity to visit Honolulu, Hawaii for a couple of weeks. This stop was immediately following our stop in Tokyo, Japan. A geographical midpoint between Japan and California, it made perfect sense that these island people were a cultural blend of these two mainlands. There was great sushi, a common respectfulness, cultural pride, an awesome surf, great weather, spiritual importance, and a laidback attitude. I will visit again someday --hopefully the smaller islands as well.
