Actor Advice from Juliet Stevenson

  • The text is your map
  • Always ask “why”
  • Keeping a journal is a great tool to use for emotional “recall” for scenes.
  • LISTEN!!!
  • For Film: To keep continuity when dropping into random scenes (filming out of sequence), make and use a Timeline. The timeline should briefly break down each scene as a reference.
  • DO YOUR PREP WORK!! Especially in Film because there isn’t much rehearsal time.
  • Long Run Advice (i.e. tour): Keep feeding your imagination to keep the piece alive.
